PlateMate is a wearable device that clips onto your apron and connects seamlessly to the app via Bluetooth. It automatically logs what you eat throughout the day using AI-powered image recognition, no manual tracking needed.

Lessons Learned
Working on Platemate taught me the importance of refining and extending an existing design. My group and I were handed an app developed by another team, and our task was to revise it and add a new feature. We focused on improving the overall flow and interface, revising multiple components and screens to create a more cohesive experience.
Our biggest addition was the wearable camera feature, which connects to your phone and allows users to cook using augmented reality. This project gave me valuable experience in working with handoff designs, paying attention to small details, and understanding how refinement can elevate an existing product. It also helped me strengthen my collaborative and problem-solving skills while designing for emerging technologies like AR.
